Frequently Asked Questions
At Wild Thyme we know that organizing a function of any size can be stressful and can create a lot of questions.
Below are some of the most frequent questions you have asked us. We are always happy to answer your queries by phone or email.
What size parties do you cater for?
- At Wild Thyme we cater for small private or business parties of 30 guests up
to large functions of 250 guests and everything in between.
What parts of the country do you operate in?
- For small to medium sized events we cover Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford.
For larger events we are happy to travel anywhere in Ireland.
Do Wild Thyme provide plates, cutlery, napkins, glassware etc?
- We do not own a stock of these items however we can take care of ordering everything
you will need for your event from one of the reputable hire companies in Dublin.
The items will be delivered to you a day or two before the event and you can arrange payment with the hire company separately.
We will unpack and lay out all the plates, linen, tables etc and repack them ready for collection by the hire company.
Do I need to arrange my own waiting staff?
- Wild Thyme have the facility to arrange as many waiting staff as you will need for your event.
We have a reliable team of professional serving staff with whom we work frequently.
Do Wild Thyme provide a full bar service?
- At Wild Thyme we work closely with Harisson Party Services. Frank and Katherine Harisson are the best in their field and as bartending
is a complex skill in its own right we feel it is best left in their capable hands.
Who exactly will be in my kitchen?
- Either Georgina or Ella will always be at your event, no matter how large or small it may be.
Will you be in my kitchen all day?
- No. We do as much preparation as possible in our production kitchen.
For small parties we will arrive 1 to 3 hours before your guests. For Marquee weddings we will make use
of the marquee kitchen for most of the day.
Will you do the washing up?
- Yes. We will make sure your kitchen is clean and tidy before we leave.
We will clear all empty plates and cutlery and stack them ready for collection.
We are also happy to wash your plates and cutlery if you have used your own for the event.
How many canapes should I choose?
- We recommend choosing one type of canape for every ten guests.
For example if you have 40 guests we would suggest four types of canape.
We allow 2 to 3 of each canape per guest, so 4 types would equal minimum 8 canape pieces per guest.
Canapes can also be a great substitute for a first course at a large reception.
Can I have a mix of buffet and plated dishes at my event?
- Yes. There are any number of options to choose between. From a sit down starter followed by buffet main course to a canape reception followed by
a 'family style' main course service. We are always happy to discuss the options with you and arrange
a service style to suit every occasion and budget.
Do you provide a children's option on your menus?
- Yes. We are very happy to provide either a half portion of the adult meal or a special
children's option at any event.
Can I just have the food delivered so I can heat and serve it myself?
- Yes. We are happy to provide a dropoff service for small to medium sized events. We can also provide you with our serving platters and
bowls to use and we will collect them the next day.
